So you've decided to throw away the contraception and join the ttc (trying to conceive) club.
For many, pregnancy comes easy.
For some a little more "calculated effort" is involved,
and for others, well.... you may wonder if there is a secret "method" out there that your mother forgot to tell you about.
Whatever your reason for visitng our site, we hope that you find some valuable information, and hopefully something that will help you on your journey to pregnancy.
The most important factor when trying to conceive is to have sexual intercourse during your fertile phase.
"When is my fertile phase" I hear you ask.
Your fertile phase is those precious 5 days leading up to ovulation (the release of your egg), and the day of ovulation itself.
OK....so when does this magical event "ovulation" occur?
For the average woman ovulation occurs 14 days before the start of her menstrual period.
Hmmm...average woman..... is there anything else the "not so average woman" should be aware of in order to catch her egg?
Why yes. By becoming aware of your own body and the changes that occur throughout your cycle, you will be able to familiarise yourself with your own personal "fertile phase" signs and symptoms.
One of the tried and tested methods of pinpointing when ovulation has occured is using the fertility charting method. This involves recording your Basal Body Temperature, or BBT and understanding and being aware of your other primary and secondary fertile signs.
Your other primary fertile sign to monitor is your cervical mucus (CM). Knowing and understanding the role your CM plays in achieving pregnancy is an invaluable aid in catching your egg.
Secondary signs include your cervix position and texture throughout your cycle, and results from ovulation predictor tests like our One Step Ovulation Test.
We have provided you with a downloadable chart for you to begin keeping track of your BBT and other fertile signs.
